Altar Servers is the perfect opportunity for youth, both male and female, to serve at liturgy. Servers participate in the entrance processional, in the offertory processional, and in the recessional. They also serve as the Thurifer (carry the incense) when needed.
Requirements to Serve as an Altar Server
Rising Grade 6 - High School Grades
Received the Sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion
Participates in Mass on a Regular Basis
(Height requirements may apply regarding ability to reach candles. Ability to lift and carry the processional cross also is considered. Altar Server albs will be provided.)
Commitment
Training will be provided.
Altar Servers are scheduled at their preferred Mass times and at agreed upon times for holy days and at sacramental celebrations (First Communion, Confirmation, Holy Week).
