At St. Michael Parish, we prepare children for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion when they are in Grade 3.
Our preparation is a combined process for the children and their parents. Each sacrament includes the following steps:
An introductory session for both parents and children to complete the first lesson and learn how to use the Spirit of Truthtextbook and video-supported curriculum.
Family-based learning for the remaining lessons are completed at home according to a flexible schedule.
Three two-hour parent/child retreat sessions conclude the preparation and help families reflect on key points and provide families with quality time for faith discussion and learning.
