Crew Leaders Crew Leaders energize and guide their group of about five mixed-age elementary crewmembers throughout the day. You get to guide them through the morning and closing activities, as well as lead them through the four stations and Tundra Treats snack break throughout each day.
Station Leader Needed for Each Station: Two Stations Leaders & Two Station Assistants Station Leaders lead each of the four activity stations that crews visit throughout each day of VBS. These stations are Wild Bible Adventures, Imagination Station, Glacier Games, and Sticky Scripture. Station Leaders receive a leader guidebook to prepare them for each day’s activities, with activity plans and the supplies they can request and prepare in their station’s room.
Station Assistant Station Assistants help prepare and facilitate each day’s station activities. They may assist with the execution of their station’s activities or act as an aid for the participants. There is no limit to the number of assistants who would like to serve in this support role.
Spotlight (Photographer) Perfect volunteer role for youth interested in photography! We need Photographers to capture the excitement of each day’s activities. These photos can be used as both a resource for future VBS planning and to communicate to the Parish community the success of VBS at St. Mike’s. Our photographer(s) explore VBS throughout the day and take a variety of photos of the fun activities that participants take part in throughout each day.
Snack Crew Need: 1 - 2 Adult & 1 - 2 Youth Volunteers Snack Crew volunteers can be flexible with which days they can help with if they are only available for some of the days. Snack crew volunteers are typically finished and able to leave by 11:15 AM each day.
Decorating Crew Decorating volunteers assist with putting up decorations on select nights leading up to VBS. Setup may include putting up various thematic decorations throughout the church (tents, kayaks, crafted displays, and other decorations), including in the gathering space in the Parish Hall and the station rooms, and may also include hanging up wall and ceiling hangings and other décor.
Crafting Crew Crafting volunteers assist with creating various decorative elements that decorators will place or hang throughout the VBS space, including in the gathering space in the Parish Hall and in the station rooms.
Background Check & VIRTUS Training All VBS Volunteers 18+ years old must complete a Background Check and VIRTUS Training.
