Experience its beautiful and peaceful environment.
The Columbarium is a witness to our faith in the Resurrection and life everlasting. It is a resting place for the cremated remains of those who loved the Church. It reminds us of ways in which the church ministers to the spiritual needs of its members, from baptism through death into eternal life. The Columbarium is a prayerful place, a place of reflection, and a permanent place for those who have died.
How You Can Get Involved
With this particular ministry, the biggest way to be involved is through prayer. Including those who are inurned in the Columbarium in your prayers would mean so much to their loved ones. Also, remember that the Columbarium is a beautiful, peaceful place to pray, whether by the Mary garden or just surrounded by nature and beauty.
The St. Michael Columbarium
Columbarium is translated from Latin as "acompartmentalized house for doves," the gentle birds mentioned in Holy Scripture and recognized symbols of peace.
Our Columbarium is:
a place for remembrance, reflection, and prayer
part of our parish's ongoing ministry to both the living and the dead
a comfortable place
a place for family and friends to gather
a consoling link between life and death
modestly priced
aesthetically pleasing
an ecologically sound alternative to burial
an extension of the parish
consecrated by the Bishop or his delegate
equipped with a soothing water feature and small garden
The Columbarium is located at the north end of the Worship Space and can be accessed on its eastern or western sides or directly from the Worship Space, using the doors behind the Ambo. The Columbarium has been built in stages. The original phase was built and dedicated in 2011 and consisted of four walls with three sections each. One of these walls is dedicated and reserved for the Knights of Columbus and their families. Fourteen years later, in 2025, the Columbarium has been expanded to now include eight walls and a total of 960 niches.
Our Columbarium is a special place.
The St. Michael Columbarium provides a serene and accessible final resting place for our loved ones who have died.
