Monthly Education Moment: Resources for the Rhythms of Life "All the days of the earth, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, Summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease." (Genesis 8:22)
The wheel of time turns, bringing new seasons with it. People are familiar with winter blues, seasonal depression, and holiday stress. It is often assumed and taken for granted that once the busy seasons pass and the weather gets a little better, any depressive tendencies will pass into a distant memory. However, for many, these feelings of distress do not dissipate after the holidays are over. In fact, the spring season sees the highest rates of suicide than any other time of the year. As the ground thaws, and life goes back to its steady rhythms, be mindful of your own moods and those of others around you. We are called to be the hands and feet of Christ upon Earth and respond to suffering with mercy. One way of doing that is being knowledgeable of mental health resources in our area.
