Holy Saturday | April 4 10 AM - 10:30 AM Parish Hall
An age-old Slavic tradition that stems from the desire to ask God's blessing on the foods that will break the Great Fast (Lent).
There is a religious significance attached to each of the food included in the baskets: eggs (hope and resurrection); bread (Christ himself who is our true Bread of Life); sausage (God's favor and generosity); horseradish and vinegar (bitterness and suffering of Christ); and small lamb made of butter (Jesus, our Paschal Lamb).
